Flashback Friday to some of my favorite photos from my portfolio work over the past few years.

Winter Market Holiday Photo Booth

'Tis the Season to Smile!  Had a lot of fun creating a holiday backdrop for a photo booth at this local Winter Market last weekend.  My sister-in-law, Jenny, of jennyaustinphotography.com , also a photographer-in-training teamed up with me to snap the market attendees photos during the event.  I haven't shot much with a good flash, so getting our lighting right was a bit of a challenge, luckily we got some tips from a more seasoned photographer, it was good practice and we offered the photos for free!  I borrowed the lovely vintage chair from the furniture and art store I work at, found some simple, but festive props, snapped some shots, and then put them all in a gallery and sent the link to everyone for them to download their images.  I look forward to doing more fun event backdrops or photo booth mini-sessions in the future.  Take a peek at few captures from our day!

School Auction Photo Session Donation

My son's school is having their annual Fall Auction Fundraising event this weekend and I've donated a half hour photo session gift certificate to be auctioned off.  The money raised at this event benefits the school's operational funds which helps to cover technology enrichment, professional development for teachers and tuition scholarships.  There are many items that are open to the public for bidding on to support the school.  My donated photo gift certificate has the value of my normal half hour session sitting fee.  You can bid on the session here Bid on Brooke Austin Photo Session through this Saturday, 8:15pm MST.  Here's a look at how my auction item will be set up at the event this weekend.  I'll have promotional postcards with $10 off coupons on them set up for people to take.  I'll also have a framed marketing collage to illustrate some of my work and my business cards available too!  I look forward to shooting more senior pictures sessions, so spread the word to your local friends and family with teens that might be needing photos this spring and summer.  Thanks for supporting my small business, the community and the future of our children's education!
