Spread KINDNESS around like CONFETTI | Urban Creative Portrait Shoot | Denver RiNo District Photographer

Confetti & hot pink 💕👠 heels?! Um, yes, please! (I get giddy when clients bring a splash of color or a prop that helps highlight their style).
Thrilled to have photographed this lovely, inspirational and gorgeously photogenic gal. Simply a smashingly fun and colorful session. Many of you have already been following her (she has a huge social media following @lindsayteague ), but if you’re like me, you’re just getting a glimpse into this fantastic influencer and I’m sure you’ll be diving in to learn more. Meet Lindsay Teague Moreno, entrepreneur, speaker, podcaster, boss mama, mentor, author and more! She has this new book “Boss Up!: This Ain’t Your Mama’s Business Book” available for pre-order NOW, and I am super excited to snag it soon to read up on tips to stir more success with my own small woman owned business journey. What a joy to meet this energetic woman who has a passion for helping others grow.

I love and adore the ever exciting art culture, vibrant textures and evolving backdrop of Downtown Denver’s RiNo Art District, which made for the perfect, playful partner to Lindsay’s creativity and style during our shoot. I’ve shot a handful of clients in and around the murals and neighborhood of RiNo and Five Points Denver, and being a Denver native helps with knowing the area, but finding new spots to shoot around and locating them can be a bit of a mystery & game, so I was grateful for this detailed resource, Colbert, Carrie (2018, November 26) Your Guide to Denver’s Most Colorful Walls Retrieved from https://carriecolbert.com/ 17 April 2019, which made my hunt for finding specific photo backdrops in the area a breeze. Her post, that I found via Google surfing the web, will treat you with shining example images + street addresses to map out some fabulous murals in this artsy area.

It was an honor to meet and photograph you Lindsay. Thanks for a most jubliant photo session that will have me smiling and inspired for a long time!

the G family + modern family outdoor portraits | denver area photographer

I loved meeting this family for the first time earlier this month! They were referred to me by other photo client/friends of mine and Mom reached out to me hoping for an outdoorsy setting shoot. I am so grateful for clients who share about my work and their experience or reviews of doing shoots with Brooke Austin Photo. Your family photos are my art, my creative outlet and my passion work. Word of mouth growth is a significant and appreciated piece of my small business. The G family were troopers as it was a bit chilly for our mini session, but they were super cooperative and the kiddos were absolute photogenic gems! They kept me on my toes and kept me smiling and giggling with their energy the whole session. I feel like I could photograph children all day, everyday! Thank you for a sweet opportunity to capture your family in this rustic Colorado setting.

Talk Derby to Me

I had the opportunity to attend the Denver Mini Derby party at Stanley Marketplace yesterday to celebrate and watch the Kentucky Derby 2017 race, so I grabbed my camera and snapped some photos of the excitement and Denver Derby style.  Sipped on a Mint Julep and peeked at the mini horse races and just took in all the fun and people dressed up for the party.  Take a peek at some of my favorite captures from the day!

High School Senior Pictures

Snapped this handsome fella's photos late yesterday afternoon.  He's actually an emerging photographer and videographer himself and has done his own impressive photo sessions with some of his friends.  He's going places.  Look out world!  These young people are full of creativity.  I was lucky to have this teen be super easy going and flexible with his senior pictures session.  We went for a slightly urban theme that meets preppy & casual teen.  Love that he just rolled with it when I told him that some of the location spots I wanted to snap photos of him in were down an alley and even next to a dumpster.  It's amazing what areas you can discover settings with lovely texture and backdrop that might be somewhat hidden in grubby downtown areas with the potential to be gems.  Thankfully, this session wasn't in too grubby of an area, just a quaint smaller town downtown scene.  Looking forward to creating custom senior portrait sessions for more teens in the future.  What spot in the Denver area might be a gem for seniors to get their natural light portraits done?  How can I customize a session to show off your unique style?
