Preview | Portrait Photography E

Preview images from a splendid shoot I had with this wonderful, talented and darling dancer and child model, Emmy, last week.  I had such a fun time capturing this sweetheart and she truly has amazing flexibility as a dancer, but also great patience and professional ability as a model too!  I love to capture children, both candidly and in slightly posed portrait photography as you can see more of here from a previous blog post.  I think portraits of children might be one of my favorite styles of photography!  I am proud to have gotten so many great shots from this shoot.  Check out the slideshow below of some of my favorites or head over to my Facebook page to view a handful more!  Interested in partnering on a styled photography shoot?  I've got availability and I'd love to capture you or your children this Fall!  What type of photos do you need?  I'd love to create a shoot just for you!

Wedding | 9.24.2016

I got some wedding photo session practice in this weekend when I had the opportunity to shadow a lovely and much more experienced photographer while on location for a beautiful Denver wedding.  My sister-in-law Jenny is also a photographer in training and she's been interning this summer with photographer, Jay of, and she invited me along to shadow them for the day.  I picked up some great photography tips, learned some new things about how difficult shooting weddings can be, but also how fun and enjoyable a wedding shoot can be as well.  I snapped some shots during the day that I was convinced would be amazing, only to get home and be disappointed with the quality of a lot of them.  You live and learn.  Practice makes progress!
I commend Jay on his patience and ability to stay focused, be efficient, friendly and really great at helping his clients pose in lots of different ways for some fantastic results!  Here are a few of my favorite captures from my first wedding shoot shadow day with Jay.

Sneak Peek Impromptu Shoot Headshots | Tara

Impromptu captures of one of my good friends for a few quick head shots.  Mostly, I just wanted to practice some more and had some very casual ideas for photographing her, but she had literally just worked all day preparing for her art event and was very gracious to let me snag her and hold her down to snap these photos.  Lighting was really pretty, but super bright and we only had a few minutes, so I had to make it work.
Tara is the Director of the nationally recognized Cherry Creek Arts Festival and these shots were taken very quickly, last night at their opening evening for the Cherry Arts Festival at Stanley event that runs through the weekend.
For 15 years, Tara, with her team, has contributed to bringing some truly amazing original visual artists to the annual festival and has been hard at work cultivating art education and appreciation to the Denver and surrounding area community.  Very proud of this creative and savvy business professional, who I am blessed to call friend.
